This sad tragedy with the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico shows what always happens: the human error and an ideology of no regulations along with money and influence entrenched in our political system with politicians and judges.
All to often those with certain jobs or investments cannot let go of their lifestyles that cause pollution, climate change, or wars over oil. We just cannot seem to sin fast enough polluting our planet for our children and just passing along the same thinking to each new generation. Unless we demand our political system change with all this money influence and lobbying, the same old status quo will dig us further into our addiction to fossil fuels.
We are close to developing enzymes from ants or termites that can break down cellulose materials such as switch grass and other plant materials. Solar, wind power, and new batteries or fuel cells can move us into a new clean energy system. Right now many young kids graduating want to work for such companies, making a valued visionary difference. You will hear the PR from the status quo trying to sway the public but it's time to say no and demand a green economy. And let’s hope the green products are not all made in China. But that's a story for another blog.
