Candied Apples

Who says being vegan and healthy is no fun? Who says we can't have decadent-tasting desserts? One bite of these candied apples and you'll see that...well, just like blondes, vegans have more fun! 


6 Red delicious or Granny Smith apples, rinsed well, left whole
Suzanne's Specialties Raspberry Rice Nectar or brown rice syrup
Coarsely chopped macadamia nuts, peanuts or other nuts
6 Popsicle sticks

Place apples on a tray top side down. Heat rice syrup in a deep sauce pan over medium-low heat for 15 minutes or until it adheres to the surface of a spoon.

Push a popsicle stick into each apple. Holding the apple by the stick, roll it around in the pan of rice syrup to coat the whole apple. Quickly dip in macadamia nuts and place on a sheet of waxed paper until it sets. 

Makes 6 apples.
